LP I-Joists

LP I-Joists are structural members manufactured by combining top and bottom flanges with webs of various depths. LP I-Joists are engineered to be straighter, stiffer, stronger and more consistent in performance than solid sawn lumber joists. In essence, we've taken the tree apart and put it back together with sophisticated manufacturing to outperform traditional lumber products.

We also offer prompt, courteous service. The LP service team at Structural Truss Systems Ltd. is on call to answer any questions and will provide complete product application, installation and warranty information.

LPI 20 Plus Series

Benefits:
  • More uniform in strength, stiffness and size than solid sawn lumber.
  • Less likely to warp, shrink, twist, split or crown.
  • More versatile with deep depths, wide flanges
    and long span capability.
  • Light in weight and easy to install.
  • Accepted by major building codes.
Why LP I-Joists?

LP I-Joists reduce the problems that naturally occur as solid sawn lumber dries, like shrinking, warping, splitting and crowning. This results in floors and ceilings that are true, solid and uniform. And because pound-for-pound LP I-Joists have a greater load-bearing capacity than traditional lumber, ceilings and floors can be designed with fewer pieces, saving installation and material costs. They're even environmentally smart because they use wood more efficiently than lumber.

LP LVL

LP laminated veneer lumber (LVL) is a significant improvement over solid wood beams. Problems that naturally occur as solid sawn lumber dries, twisting, splitting, checking, crowning and warping are greatly reduced. And pound-for-pound, LP LVL has more load-carrying capacity than solid sawn lumber. The end result is a building material that's more reliable and high-performing than traditional lumber.

Why LP LVL?

You'll enjoy more design freedom with LP LVL because it's thicker, wider and longer than solid sawn lumber beams.  Because it is manufactured from ultrasonically graded veneers and bonded together with exterior grade adhesives, LP LVL has a high load capacity and exceptional strength, stiffness and consistency.  Consequently, LP LVL is ideal for uses such as beams, headers and other primary load carrying members.

LP LVL beams:
  • Provide consistent, reliable performance
  • Feature high bending strength and stiffness
  • Are easy to cut and nail
  • Are available with weather resistant coating
  • Have major building code compliance reports
Why Is It Better?

LP LVL is available in four grades.  We currently stock 2950Fb2.0E,  and 2250Fb1.5E. It comes in a variety of thicknesses and depths and lengths of up to 60 feet. In addition to the standard natural finish, a water-resistant coating called SiteCote is available for extra weather protection during construction.  For more information on this product, visit the manufactures web site at www.lpcorp.com.
